Wales

Hello you lovely lot!

I am currently on the train from Nottingham (my home town (kinda)) to Liverpool (my uni town/other home town) and with an hour and a half left and very little to do I thought I would write a blog post! I have a few things to update you on, like my experience and the final date on the 1D OTRA Tour (*sob*) and probably another Uni post, maybe my room? I don't know, but I only saw One Direction yesterday and I don't think I'm emotionally ready to talk about them just yet.

So, at my University the English Department do a trip to Wales every year. They told us that normally they do it with the third years but since it's all about team building they thought it might be more appropriate to take the first years! There was meant to be two separate trips, one for English Literature (which is my course) and one for English Language. However, there wasn't enough people so me and Sam, the only other Lit student that was going, went along with all the Lang students.

Now, I am not an outdoors kind of girl. I love my bed and I love the warmth. So when I knew it was an out of bounds centre I wasn't 100% sure if I wanted to go but in hindsight, it's probably one of the best things I've ever done!

We started with a long drive (I say long, I mean 3 hours) and I can safely say I have missed Wales.

After we got to the house we were put in to rooms and since I was already friends with Melissa who was on the trip too, we were put in a room together. I was so happy about this because I was no longer worried about the fact I would have an awkward stage with the people I had to share my room with.

Me and Melissa were soon joined by a girl called Clare because the girls in her room wanted to stay up all night and drink whereas Clare just wanted to chill. We unpacked all out stuff and then went out and did a few team building challenges before we had some dinner.

That evening, me, Melissa and Claire snuggled up under our duvets and watched a few films before heading to bed so we could be woken up by the bell ay 8AM (I wanted to cry).

The next day we went out in the freezing cold, which wasn't the best since I was ill anyway..typical me, and we went rock climbing!

I managed to get about half way before I got tired and gave up but I love rock climbing! Even if it was freezing and I felt like I was going to be sick it was probably the best day I had there! We did rock climbing then went back and did a ropes course. We had to do that thing where theres two ropes that get further and further apart and one person stands on each rope. You both lean on each other and see how far you can get. Me and Ella got the furthest before two very tall boys beat us but they had longer arms so....We then did a zip wire and went back, me Clare and Melissa watched a few more films and went to bed.

On the final day, the rest of the group minus me, Clare and Amy went canoeing. I didn't go because my dad was coming to pick me up and I didn't really want to sit in the car soaking wet.

Overall I had an amazing few days and even though I do love staying in my bed and not doing any exercise, it was probably the best few days I've had in a while! If any of you ever get an opportunity to do something like this then do it! It taught me a lot and I also met some lovely people!

Thanks for reading!
