Letter To My Thirteen Year Old Self
So I saw my friend Natalie (http://nataliestoddart.blogspot.co.uk/) do this and it inspired me (and also made me cry) so I thought I would do one too! I decided to do one to my thirteen year old self since I was only fifteen two years ago!
Hey Becky!
First of, those 'One Direction' lads. Keep hold of them, they'll get you through a lot, as stupid as that sounds and as much as you get teased, don't you ever let them go. Also, quick reminder, in a few years you'll go to a football match and you'll buy lots of stuff to give to them (including your panda hat that I know you love but please put it in...it may even make it into the extras of a film they make one day....) but whatever you do, please check your phone isn't in the bag before you give it to Phoebe. Thanks.
Anyway, life's ok for you right now I think, but it's about to get a hell of a lot worse. Don't you dare listen to a single word that anybody says about you. You are worth more than they will ever be and when things get bad, please talk to someone. Don't wait for mum and dad to find out like I did.
You'll turn 14 soon (exciting) and as far as I know that'll be a great birthday but be wary of your sixteenth. Please keep yourself safe and remember that there are always people who love you, no matter what you think.
EAT!
I can't even stress how important that is, don't think that that's a good way to lose weight, because although it works it will not make you happy and you'll then struggle with it until you're at least eighteen, possibly longer, I'm not sure yet.
Enjoy your time at school because college isn't great for you. Don't let the same people continue to bully you through college either. Just get rid of them, you'll be much happier, I promise. Don't waste your time on boys, they're a load of rubbish (minus Harry Styles who you still love).
Your nan will move in and make home feel like a living hell but don't listen to her either, just laugh it off. Chris is still the same but you'll learn to cope with it and stand up to him.
In short, don't put up with anybody's shit. If you're happy with the weight you are then forget everyone else, if you want to get rid of people, don't waste a second and please please please make sure you're happy. Friends will come and go and you'll learn to cope with it because in the end you'll come out with a great set of friends who have truly proved their friendship to you over the years. Just don't give up, even on those nights where you feel so alone and have nobody to talk to, just hang on in there. I promise it'll be ok, maybe not when you're my age but we can both hope that soon everything will be fine.
Also, keep an eye out for your old faves Busted...they might come back at some point.
17 (pretty much 18) year old Becky x
