REVIEW : Glitterbug - The Wombats
So, this album has been out for ages I know, I know, but I've only just started listening to all of it properly and so since I am a mahoosive fan of The Wombats I thought I would write a bit review for you. Also, I have a real urge to write something at the moment so I thought that rather than another Top Ten (I'm overloading you with them, soz) I would do this! Here we go!
1. Emoticons
This is a great one. This is currently number one on my 'Top 25 Most Played' which is always a good sign. It doesn't really make sense to me lyrics wise but if you love a good uplifting song then have a listen, well worth it!
2. Give Me A Try
I really didn't like this when I first heard it. I don't know why, it just didn't quite catch my attention like one of the other tracks ,which I will talk about in a sec, did. However, after watching the (brilliant) video I warmed to it and it's now one of my faves.
3. Greek Tragedy
This was the first song I ever heard by The Wombats thanks to my lovely friend Melissa. I fell in love with it straight away and thought 'This is my kind of music'. The video is absolutely mental but probably one of the best videos I've ever seen! It's also deffo not what I'd do if I knew where 1D...*cough*
4. Be Your Shadow
I've been listening to this one on and off but I'm pretty sure I like it, it's probably not my favourite on the album but maybe in my top 5?
5. Headspace
Not sure how I feel about this one...maybe it's just because I haven't listened to it too much?
6. This Is Not A Party
I didn't really like this one either when I first heard it, it's still not one of my favourites but I can listen to all of it without skipping it now (which is an achievement for me, honestly)
7. Isabel
I've never really listened to this one but I am doing now. I don't mind it I guess. When I listen to The Wombats it's usually because I want to dance around my room but this one doesn't really allow me to do this. Don't get me wrong, I love a good ballad type thing but maybe not this one...
8. Your Body Is A Weapon
YES. YES. YES. Bloody love this one. It's not really a dancey one but I can belt it out like a strangled cat.
9. The English Summer
I never new what this one was called but I knew I loved the chorus and I remember always wanting to listen to the one that went 'meeEEEEEEEE'. Still love it.
10. Pink Lemonade
When the album teaser came out this was one that got me really excited. I love Pink Lemonade too so what a great name...anyway. It just reminds me of summer and I love the bit where it gets a bit more upbeat. Laaaavely.
11. Curveballs
Another one I haven't listened to too much. I do like the chorus on first listen though! Again, not one I can really dance around too but it's not too slow. Also love the bridge bit! Love it when a song is all loud then goes all quite then loud again YAY.
12. Sex and Question Marks
Ok so I haven't really listened to any of these last three but I am listening as I'm writing this. This one is Ok, nothing special really but I don't dislike it?
13. Flowerball
This again doesn't really grab my attention too much but maybe this is because this is only the first time I've heard it??
Thanks For Reading!
