TOP TEN : Busted

by - 05:04

Hello you lovely lot!

So, the boys are back in town RIGHT?! Yes, if you didn't already know (where have you been?!) BUSTED ARE BACK.

I am so excited about this, I have loved busted for a good 10 years now and I will continue to love them for the rest of my life, I am also excited that this means McFly are back and we might get album six soon (please boys...it's getting a bit ridiculous now). However, this blog post is not about those boys and instead it is about James, Matt and Charlie. I haven't done a 'TOP TEN' in such a long time so I thought, who better to make a blog post on, than Busted! I'm seeing them in May (*tries not to cry*) so I'm hoping these will be on the setlist! I thought I'd already done a Busted 'TOP TEN' but I couldn't find it so i'm presuming I haven't...

So, let's rock and roll!

10. Can't Break Thru - A Present For Everyone (2003)

This was a different song when I started writing this blog post but then I was listening to Busted on shuffle and this came on and I couldn't not put it in! I'd forgotten how much I loved it, if you had asked me to think of my top ten off the top of my head and not given me an hour to think about it, this wouldn't have been on the list. This is one I love singing in the shower because I feel like it's a ballad but..I don't think Busted do ballads really.

Favourite Part : 'Why are you always complaining about me? You don't even know who I am'

9. She Wants To Be Me - A Present For Everyone (2003)

I honestly thought this would be higher on the list because I've always thought of it as one of my favourite Busted songs ever, which it still is I guess, the top ten is a pretty good place to be! I do love this and have done for a long time. I think this is quite a typical Busted sound but I love it all the same!

Favourite Part : 'I love his silly band, can I get his autogRAAAAAAAAPHHHH'...yeah, that bit.

8. Thunderbirds Are Go - Thunderbirds/3AM (2004)

I have always considered this as one of my top 3 favourite Busted songs. I had a good idea of what my three favourites are and I have since discovered I am wrong. I have heard this live three times (maybe more because I did go to a busted concert when I was little but you know, can't quite remember the setlist.) The first time I heard it was when I went to see McBusted with my friend Natalie and they played the Thunderbirds countdown and since there were 5 of them, they all popped up on a different number. It was magical. Youtube it. This is just such a classic song.

Favourite Part : 'Cause now, the boys are back in town, aint no strings to hold them down'

7. Better Than This - A Present For Everyone (2003)

I think I've always secretly loved this one and I do know most of the words, but again, it's not one that jumps to mind. I think this one is slightly different to your classic Busted (in some parts) which is possibly why I like it so much, as much as I love the Busted sound, I do love some variation I must admit. None of the classics are on this list, sorry to disappoint, because they just sound so similar (which normally annoys me with bands, but with Busted I quite like it because you can always rely on them) and as much as I do love a bit of music about three breasted women and crashing weddings. I also like the slightly different ones.

Favourite Part : 'I don't wanna leave you, but baby, I need to, there's got to be better than this'

6. Dawsons Geek - Busted (2002)

I used to love singing bits of this because I related to them and it used to make me feel like I was basically holding a middle finger up to the person I thought it was about. Now I just like it because it's catchy and the lyrics are still amazing.

Favourite Part : 'Step back, take a look at where you're at'

5. Without You - Busted (2002)

This is another one that i think I like because it's different to what you'd expect. I do love slow emotional songs, I think they're probably my favourite as much as I love dancing around in my room whilst getting ready. This one is so sweet and has the most beautiful lyrics. Charlie's voice also sounds angelic (not that it doesn't normally but you know, he's normally quite loud). I like the fact that the chorus still has drums and a solid beat and it's not all slow and sad. One of my favourites.

Favourite Part : 'The way you always made me look at you with all the simple things you said'

4. Why - A Present For Everyone (2003)

I LOVE this song. I love the fact that it goes from all slow and sad to all loud and fast. I think it's just the perfect mix. I don't think I've ever really listened to the lyrics particularly hard but I know them well enough. It says something that this song has been out since I was 6 and I still love it just as much as I did when I was dancing around my living room to it when i first came out(or so I've been told).

Favourite Part : 'How can I complain? Your story never seems to stay the same' OR 'Such a selfish compromise, a self indulgent useless bunch of lies.'

3. Everything I Knew - Busted (2002)

I didn't think this one would be in the top three but it would have been in the top ten if you had asked me to name them off the top of my head. I just think this one is so catchy even though it's not necessarily all loud and a classic Busted song. However, none of my top three are.

Favourite Part : 'Everything I knew just went out the window. No, I can't depend on you...FOREVER'

2. Who's David - A Present For Everyone (2003)

I knew this would be second from the moment I thought of the idea for this blog post. If they don't play this on tour I will be very disappointed. Even my brother knows the words to this and he doesn't even like Busted because I just play it constantly. I think quite a lot of Busted fans love this song and maybe even quite a few people who don't like Busted (although, who are these people? How do they live?).

Favourite Part : 'So go live in the house of David if you like, but be sure he don't know Peter, John or Mike'

1. 3 A.M. - A Present For Everyone (2003) & Thunderbirds/3AM (2004)

This has always been and will always be my favourite Busted song without a doubt. I don't know why I love it so much but it will always hold a special place in my heart. I have never suffered heartbreak so bad that I have stood outside someones door at 3 A.M. but I can imagine that this song sums it up perfectly (I'll update you if it ever does happen to me). This song still makes me emotional even though I can't specifically relate to it but I can relate to some of the lyrics. McBusted played this when I saw them the third time and I sobbed my eyes out and if it is missing off the setlist I will be writing letters of complaint to the boys themselves (which will deffo work...yep). It's just an amazing song and maybe one of my favourite songs of all time. Just maybe.

Favourite Part : 'I don't give a damn about you, no, nothing can change my mind, no way, I'm happy just to let you walk away.'

So, there you have it, my top ten busted songs! There will definitely be a blog post next year about my concert experience but until then, I will be listening to these ten songs on repeat (I wont)...(maybe I will)...

Thanks for reading!
