The Hair Situation

Hello You Lovely Lot!

So, you might recall I made a blog post called 'Blondes Don't Have More Fun' (which you can read here if you like) in which I told you all that my hair had turned yellow. I originally wanted it silver but after bleaching it three times then dying it twice it just didn't work. I thought I would just update you all on how my hair is doing and the stuff I use to keep it alive because frankly I'm surprised it hasn't fallen out of my head yet!

A few days after I wrote that blog post my hairdresser came back and used a colour conditioner to turn my hair purple! Well, lilac. It was so gorgeous but because it was only a conditioner it didn't stay in very long!

Eventually it faded and kind of turned to sliver/purple. For some reason the roots and the ends took the colour really well so they stayed purple and then silver for longer. The purple was noticeable for quite a while!

Until it eventually faded to mostly silver..

It then started to go blonde but the purple bits stayed purple and eventually faded to silver

I would now say that my hair is blonde even though it looks purple sometimes in photographs. Although this is not the colour that I wanted originally I am very happy with it and how it's turned out! I'm dying my hair purple again at the beginning of March so I'm excited for that!

I am having a bit of trouble with my fringe as it's starting to get a weird green tinge to it but I googled it and have been assured that it's just a build up of chemicals and that all I have to do to get rid of it is use pink shampoo (which I don't have) or put ketchup on it which scares me but I am willing to give it go because the last thing I want is green hair!

Here's the products I used to (eventually) get my hair like this....

Shampoo

Pro:Voke - Touch Of Silver Colour Care Shampoo

I started using this because it was the cheapest option and it is the only one I have ever used (although I am tempted to try the Bleach London one *all hail Bleach London*) and so far it seems to have worked ok! It's been about three/four weeks and my hair is only just starting to get back to it's original colour! My hair definitely went silver for a bit but I'm not sure if that was the shampoo or the fact my colour conditioner faded to the colour? I use this every time I wash my hair which probably isn't the best but every time I washed my hair it would fade a bit and I wanted it to stay silver/lilac for as long as possible! I want to try the Urban Fudge one too because I've heard that's amazing and tones your hair in one wash so my next purchase will be that I think! However, I have enjoyed using this! I don't think it would turn blonde hair to silver but it seemed to keep my colour in for a while!

Conditioner

Pro:Voke - Touch Of Silver Colour Care Conditioner

Obviously I use the conditioner to match the shampoo because I'm organised and have my life together...that is definitely not a lie. I don't leave this in for more than a few seconds because my hair gets super greasy really fast but with my hair in this condition I still need to look after the roots! I use one of the wet Tangle Teezers to brush this through then massage it in a bit then wash it our straight away! This does pretty much the same job as the shampoo!

Bleach London Reincarnation Mask

This is a godsend! If you have dry hair go out and buy this right now! I massage this in to the tips of my hair then leave it in for twenty minutes and sit in my dressing gown and do something for the twenty minutes! Usually I write a blog post whilst it's in which is exactly what I'm doing right now (INCEPTION OR WHAT). This leaves my hair super soft and to be honest it feels better than it did when I only had the ends dip dyed! It's in such good condition. I use this every time I wash my hair too but I think without it my hair would feel like straw. By far the best hair mask I've ever used even though it could be a little bit on the pricey side, I can't remember. It is so worth the price because I only use the tiniest bit on my ends and it goes a long way! There's no way I would be able to use this all over my head or my hair would be greasy when I woke up the next morning. I trust Bleach London with my life.

I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do with the green situation (I have tried the ketchup and it didn't appear to do anything so the next thing is a baby pink shampoo!) but I will update you on that if I have to or if I find a good solution!

Thanks For Reading!
