Hello You Lovely Lot!

If you didn't already know, I LOVE Meghan Trainor. Her last album just reminds me so much of last summer and I think this album will be a reminder for this summer. I've had the album for a few days because it came out on Apple Music a few days early but since it's just been released everywhere else I thought I would write a little review!


Watch Me Do

This song was released quite a while ago now long with a few others but I still love it. I think it took me a while to come round to it and I wasn't sure when I first heard it. However, there was a time where I would just play it over and over again. I think it's such a good way to start the album and is one of the catchiest songs on the album.

Favourite Lyric : 'Im the shh, be quiet, I've been on a low hater diet'

Me Too

I LOVE this song even though it only came out a few days before the album. I have not stopped listening to it yet. I've seen a few people on twitter bash this song but it just makes me feel so great? I also love the video and the fact that Meghan took it down because it was photoshopped, what a lady. It's not what I expected from Meghan I have to say but I think I love the change!

Favourite Lyric : 'If I was you, I'd wanna be me too'

Now obviously everyone knows this. Natalie was the person who told me about it so I've been listening to it for ages. I think it's just such an empowering song and also another super catchy one. I think Kayleigh must have been sick of this when it first came out because I would literally play it on repeat..

Favourite Lyric : 'Call me beautiful, so original'

Better ft Yo Gotti

I know that Natalie loves this one but I'm not so fond. I think it's just not the kind of music I would normally listen to. I don't even think I've listened to it all the way through, is that bad? I can still appreciate that it's a good song and I do like it, it just doesn't jump out to me as much as the other songs do!

Favourite Lyric : 'Tell em' what they already know, I deserve better'

Hopeless Romantic 

This is one that I haven't really listened to I have to admit but I still like it! I guess I just don't like it as much as the others. I think it's nice to break up all the fast upbeat songs though . I think that if I listen to it a few times I'll start to really love it and it will be one of those songs that I just can't stop playing!

Favourite Lyric : 'Ever After comes after we meet'

I Love Me ft Lunchmoney Lewis

This is another one that came before the actual album and another one that I love! I think this album has a running theme of self love which is totally fine by me. This one just makes me want to dance to be honest and I love the beginning where the song just suddenly cuts in! Another amazing song, well done Meghan!

Favourite Lyric : 'I don't mean to brag, I don't mean to boast, I love all of y'all, but I love me the most'

Kindly Calm Me Down

I loved this when I firs listened to it but I haven't really listened to it since then I have to say. However, as I listen to it now I'm realising just how much I love it. The people who read my blog all the time (is there even anyone who does that?) will know I love a ballad. This song is just that and it is so beautiful and I think it really shows off what a gorgeous voice Meghan has.

Favourite Lyric : 'If I need you now, would you kindly calm me down?'

Woman Up

This is an AMAZING song and if I had to pick a top three it would most definitely be there, maybe even be at number one?! The minute I heard it I knew it was something that would be stuck in my head for the next few weeks. I've listened to it a good five times already today which I think is slightly excessive but I just love it. It has the same kind of feel as 'Salute' by Little Mix in the fact tht it's about not needing a man to do anything.

Favourite Lyric : 'All my girls, raise your hands if you don't need a man'

Just A Friend To You

As a Ukulele player myself, the second I heard this I knew I would like it. It kind of reminds me of that bit in Glee when Sam and Quinn sing 'Lucky' (which is also a lovely song can I say). It's just a sweet little song and so easy to listen to as well! Probably not on my top five but it is a great song and it might grow on me!

Favourite Lyric 'Everybody knows you love me too'

I Won't Let You Down

This is such a summer song and I know that when I listen to it come winter it will be a song that reminds me of driving in my car with my friends. I listened to it the other day on the way to the shops and it just made me feel so happy! Right from the beginning it sounds so cheerful and just such a feel good song!

Favourite Lyric : 'You can't dance to the beat of a heart that's broken'

Dance Like Yo Daddy

I'm not too sure how I feel about this. What I know for certain is that I like it but it's whether I love it and whether I would class it as one of my favourites. I think that maybe I would put it in my top five but maybe not a top three. It is so catchy though and easy to dance too (although I think you can guess that from the title to be honest...)

Favourite Lyric : 'Simon says go touch your nose, but Meghan says touch your toes...but like, I still can't touch my toes'

Champagne Problems

I knew the minute I heard this that I would love it. It's just up my street and I loved it even more when I actually listened to the lyrics. It's basically about first world problems which I always complain about and about sucking it all up and realising that other people have it worse. I think that it's an important message to be honest and it's done in such a light-heart way! Definitely one of my favourites from the whole album.

Favourite Lyric : 'My new iPhone doesn't seem to work, no internet that's the worst'

Mom ft Kelli Trainor

This is the cutest song ever! It's another one that came out before the album and I was in love straight away/ I think everyone thinks they have the best mum but you know, we can't all write a song about our mums so I think Meghan wins here to be honest. The phone call between her and her um breaks my heart sometimes when I miss my mum. This is not a song you should listen to if you miss your mum by the way, it makes me feel even worse...

Favourite Lyric : 'She love-a me, love-a me, love-a me, love-a me, love, she love me like nobody else'

Friends

This is one that I think I've only listened to once or twice but I think I should maybe listen to it more. It's another slower one which I think just get lost in albums for me because when I first hear an album I'm all excited for the upbeat ones. Then after a while I start to love the slow ones when Ive played the fast ones too many times. This is such a lovely song with lovely lyrics though.

Favourite Lyric : 'Cause I got all my friends with me'

Thank You

Another one that I've only listened to once when I listened to the album for the first time. I'm that person that will just listen to the songs they love and hardly ever listen to new music because I know what I like and what I don't.  I also feel like this song is everything I need to say to friends that I haven't said! Saying 'Thank You' is important and I don't do it enough!

Favourite Lyrics : 'I got nothin' without you'

So there we have it everyone! I love this album so much and I was certainly not disappointed. So many of the songs are so catchy and have brilliant messages. I really hate the stick that Meghan gets but I personally think she's incredible so, whatever.
