And now, time for this months songs..
On What You're On - On What You're On (Single) - Busted
This is the second single to come out of Busted's upcoming album and it makes me so excited! I wasn't sure about the new Busted sound but I know that I love this song and that it's just so catchy. I love listening to it when I'm walking to Uni or in the shower. I even have tickets to see them next February and I have no doubt that I'll hear this!
Favourite Lyric : 'Are we dancing to the same song? I wanna know what you're on'
This Town - This Town (Single) - Niall Horan
OF COURSE this was going to make it in to this playlist. I first heard this when I was very hungover and very sad and I have never cried at something so trivial in my life (damn you Niall). I think it's so beautiful and shows everyone that Niall is such a talented writer and singer too. Which makes us all question why his singles in Up All Night were basically non-existent. HUH MODEST?! HUH?!
Favourite Lyric : 'In the pub that we met he's got his arms around you'
Pretty Little Liar - Pretty Little Liar (Single) - MY
This is the band that supported McFly when I went to see them! i really liked this one and so I found it on Spotify! it's not like the music I would usually listen to but I have to admit that it is a new favourite! MY were also amazing live and if they ever played near me I'm sure I would go!
Favourite Lyric : 'Doesn't help that you were beautiful, no I'm not ok at all'
Ex's & Oh's - Love Stuff - Elle King
I knew of this song but had never really listened to it all the way through. That was until it was on X-Factor and by Emily and I have loved it ever since! I think it's so clever and just such a catchy song. It's one that most people know too, no matter what your music taste is!
Favourite Lyric : '1 2 3 they gonna run back to me, they always wanna come but they never wanna leave'
My Way - My Way (Single) - Calvin Harris
I am definitely not someone who usually likes this kind of music and I kind of avoid the charts just because it's not really my cup of tea 90% of the time. However, for some reason I have been so in love with this song. Maybe it's just Calvin Harris because I also loved 'This Is What You Came For'?! Either way, this is a song that I definitely wont mind hearing when I'm on a night out.
Favourite Lyric : 'Why wait to say 'At least I did it my way'?
Sunsets and Heartbreak - Up at Night - Cimorelli
I decided to really try and listen to this whole album after falling in love with half of it last month and this is the one that really stood out to me. It makes me so emotional and has also been added to my playlist for when I'm said (please tell me I'm not the only one who has one of those). I just think Cimorelli also have a real talent for songwriting and obviously singing too.
Favourite Lyric : 'Between red lights and mistakes I can't stand here in this earthquake'
Girls And Boys In Love - Girls and Weather - The Rumble Strips
I fell in love with this again because earlier on in the month Nicole, Jack and I watched the absolute classic that is 'Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging'. If you know that film well you'll recognise this song instantly and I think it's a song that will just always perk me up no matter what. It will always remind me of the film which is such a feel-good film!
Favourite Lyric : 'Move to the city, lose all your heart'
Best Fake Smile - Chaos And The Calm - James Bay
I found this song on a playlist that came up on Spotify. I don't know much of James Bay's music but the ones I do know I love and this is no different. The whole idea of the song is that if you're not happy with something you don't have to just stand there and smile. You can do something about it and I think that's something I really need to learn and day by day i feel like this song might be working.
Favourite Lyric : 'No you don't have to stand there and burn inside'
Shout Out to My Ex - Shout Out to My Ex (Single) - Little Mix
I am IN LOVE with this song. The other week we played it in our kitchen and had it on really loud and I feel like it was exactly what I needed. I don't even have an ex that this song could be about but I feel like it's a song that makes me angry almost? Like when I sing it I do feel like it's to a specific person but I have no idea who that person is. I just feel so empowered when I'm singing along to it and it's my favourite song at the moment.
Favourite Lyric : 'Oh baby, I'm cool by the way'
Open Your Eyes - Up To Now - Snow Patrol
This is another song that I discovered through a Spotify playlist (the same Spotify playlist as the James Bay one believe it or not, what a brilliant playlist, it's called 'The Great British Breakfast' incase anyone cares). Now, we all love a bit of 'Chasing Cars' and if you don't you're lying. I had no idea this song even existed but I'm so glad I know now. It's one of those songs they play in movies or on DIY SOS when the family see the house for the first time, that kind of vibe. Very chill, very emotional.
Favourite Lyric : 'Get up, get out, get away from these lies'
Are U Having Any Fun? - Happy Camper - Hoodie Allen
Every now and then I go through a phase where I love Hoodie Allen and right now is one of those phases. When I first heard this new album I won't lie, I really didn't like it. For some reason I decided to give it another chance around a week ago and I listened to the first song (this one) and stopped because I fell in love. I don't really know what was different about it and how I felt about it but for some reason, my opinion of it has changed.
Favourite Lyric : 'Meanwhile, I got every Will Smith CD'
F*** Apologies - Mad Love - JoJo
I've known this song for a while but it's taken me a few weeks to fall in love with it. I think that's just because I listened to it once and then didn't listen to it again until it made it on to this playlist. I'm so happy that JoJo is making music again, especially when it's music that's this good. If you haven't heard any of her new music then you really have to go and have a gander because it's incredible stuff!
Favourite Lyric : 'And honestly I was just about to pick up the phone, then I realised that I didn't do nothing wrong'
So, there you have it everyone, that's what I've been listening to this month!
Thanks For Reading!
