Hello You Lovely Lot!

Another year, another playlist. I am so glad I started doing these because it's just so easy to then find songs I want to listen to! A lot of these songs were added quite late because I haven't listened to too much music this month?! I don't know why! Some of these songs are old songs too, there isn't many new ones or new discoveries.

I haven't listened to this song much this month but I found it right at the end of last month and so right at the start of the month I put it on the playlist. I found this song when I was in a really bad way and it got me through some tougher days. It's so simple and beautiful and makes me cry most of the  time. I haven't felt so sad that I've had to listen to it this month which i guess is a positive! However, I do love it and I'm glad I found it!

Those Days Are Gone - Night Driver - Busted

I LOVE this song. When this album first came out I wasn't sure because obviously it's different to old Busted. Yet the more I listen to it the more I love it. When they first put up a link to this song I thought that it was going to be just like old Busted because it starts with just a piano and them. I got so excited and then half way through it turned in to something more electronic and to begin with I was a bit gutted because as we all know I love a sad song. The more I listened to it the more I fell in love. Putting these sad lyrics to a cheerful beat means I find myself dancing around to thought of letting people and memories go because those days are gone.

Favourite Lyric : 'It's a lonely place without you here. I wish that you would just reappear'

Castle on the Hill - Castle on the Hill (Single) - Ed Sheeran

I am a huge Ed Sheeran fan and so when he brought out not one but two singles I went wild. This is my favourite of the two because it's a bit more my style I guess? Ed Sheeran never fails to write good songs and this blew me away. I also love the video and I won't even lie, it made me cry the first time I watched it. Now the songs makes me cry if I'm in the right mood. It just makes me think about going home and seeing all my friends!

Favourite Lyric : 'Driving at 90 down those country roads, singing to 'Tiny Dancer''

Shape of You - Shape of You (Single) - Ed Sheeran 

This is the other single that he brought out and to begin with I wasn't sure about it. It's just not the music I would usually listen to but I gave it a go because it's Ed Sheeran. I slowly but surely came around and realised that it's a brilliant song. He announced a tour and I'm hoping to get tickets because I can just imagine how good this will be when it's played live!

Favourite Lyric : 'We talk for hours and hours about the sweet and the sour and how you family is doing ok'

Dumb - Straight Outta Oz - Todrick Hall

I used to love this album and this was one of my favourites. When I was driving back to Liverpool I was looking for albums that I had downloaded because I didn't have any data and this was one of them. If you know nothing about this album then basically it's songs written about Todricks life and they all have a Wizard of Oz theme which I think is SO clever. I rediscovered my love for this song this month and the lyrics are really clever too. If you haven't heard any of these songs then there's a visual album on YouTube which is amazing!

Favourite Lyric : 'Tweedledum is what they call it if you ask Alice'

If I Had A Heart - Straight Outta Oz - Todrick Hall 

It's not hard to see how this one links with The Wizard of Oz. This is such a beautiful song that I actually wasn't sure if I liked when I first listened to it. I'm not quite sure if its like a heartbreak song, a sassy song or a love song? Either way it's gorgeous.

Are U Having Any Fun? - Happy Camper - Hoodie Allen & Meghan Tonjes

I go through stages with Hoodie Allen and I speak all about him in my January favourites but basically this is one of the times where I can't get enough of him. I used to not like this album and so that was the reason I went off him the last time but I was just listening to 'James Franco' (which is also great but I can only find it on YouTube, what's that all about?). Then YouTube does that thing that it does and takes you on to other videos and this is one of the videos I ended up on. I think this video is so clever, it's like a game? I think it's based on GTA but I'm not 100% sure. Either way it got me hooked on the song!

Favourite Lyric : 'Might become a chef the way these motherfuckers grilling me, meanwhile I got every Will Smith CD'

So Close to Happiness - Happy Camper - Hoodie Allen

This is a new discovery for me because after I discovered that I liked 'Are U Having Any Fun?' and that it was from this album I thought I would give some more songs a go. I have yet to listen to the whole album but this is one song I found that I loved. I don't know what it is about Hoodie Allen that I love so much but I think this song is one of my favourite songs by him even though I've only just found it.

Favourite Lyric : I guess I'm scared if I accomplish all my dreams then the only thing left to do would be to talk about me and I don't wanna do that

All About It - People Keep Talking - Hoodie Allen & Ed Sheeran

Now I loved Hoodie Allen way before this song and so when i saw it I went crazy because obviously, I love Ed Sheeran. Hoodie's song are just so catchy and even though it's not the music I would usually listen to and is so far from everything else I love, there's just something about it!

Favourite Lyric : 'I just wanna leak shit...what?...not literally leak shit, wanna push the music through the speakers'

Movie - People Keep Talking - Hoodie Allen

I feel like there's not too much more I can say about how much I love Hoodie Allen because this is the fourth song of his that's on this playlist. This is one song that i never used to listen to but for some reason last year I started to love it more and more and recently it's come back! With Hoodie I tend to listen to the songs I know when I fall back in love with him again and after last year this was definitely on the list!

Hello You Lovely Lot!

Happy New Year! I can't believe I'm actually saying that, it's crazy to think that it's 2017. However, before I full move in to the New Year, I just want to savour 2016 for a little longer. My gosh that was a long playlist! Now we can move on to this years...

stay - the morning (all of the songs) - Lewis Watson

I went through a stage a while ago where I loved Lewis Watson and I went to see him live. Every now and then I listen to him and fall in love again and this is one of those times. This is a song I hadn't heard before and normally I just skip songs like that because I want to listen to the ones I know and love. However I left this on one day and I was blown away. I should expect nothing less from Lewis than beautiful lyrics, harmonies and songs in general.

Favourite Lyrics : 'I couldn't keep my eyelids shut, why can't you stay?'

Santa Tell Me - Santa Tell Me - Ariana Grande

I should have known that this song would make it's way back. I think I found this song not last year but the year before and I just loved it. So the past two years I've loved it just as much. It's just so upbeat and I never usually like Ariana Grande but this is one song I will willingly listen to. It even came on whilst I was at work once and it was one of the best days, so there's something.

Favourite Lyric : 'I don't want no broken heart, this year I've got to be smart'

halo - the morning (all the songs) - Lewis Watson

This is another one I hadn't heard before this month but I am so glad I know it now. It is so beautiful. It's all about someone not knowing how brilliant they are. It makes my heart ache sometimes and sometimes it makes it soar. Either way it's a song that deserves so much more recognition than it deserves. I'm even crying now as I listen to it and type this. Ah, Lewis, never fails to make me bawl my eyes out, but we all know I love a sad song.

Bohemian Warhols - Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia - The Dandy Warhols

I downloaded a playlist called 'Sing-Along Indie Hits' for whatever reason and this was on it. My Dad used to play this to me and I had forgotten how much I loved it. It's just SO catchy. This was a good part of my December which is why it's a bit more upbeat.

Sheila - Panic Prevention - Jamie T

Another one from the Indie playlist. I'm sure I've heard this one before too but I have no dea where or when. I have fallen so in love with this song and I used to listen to it every single day when I walked back from Uni. I think it's just such an uplifting song even though the lyrics are really anything but uplifting really.

Buck Rodgers - Echo Park - Feeder

My Dad got me back in to Feeder this month by playing some of their stuff whilst I was in the same room. I grew up listening to music like this and this was one of the songs I used to love so to finally have it again and be able to listen to it whenever I want is a godsend. This is the music I love deep down even though I love a bit of bubblegum pop (1D come back soon) I think that songs like this will always appeal to me

Just a Day - The Singles - Feeder

My Dad showed me the music video for this which was basically a load of fan videos put together and it was really entertaining. It's another song that I grew up listening to and I'm so happy to have in my life again. It's lovely to listen to songs that remind you of being a kid. I also feel like this is a song I could really dance around to if I wanted to, I wont. But I could

Don't Let it Break Your Heart - Mylo Xyloto - Coldplay

I find it so funny that I really used to dislike this album because I was a sucker for Coldplays sad songs (I mean I still am but I love this album too now). This month has been basically bad thing after bad thing but this song just pulled me up every single time. 2017 is about not letting anything break my heart, not a person, not an event, not a coursework mark. Nothing. Thanks Coldplay for your words of wisdom. A must hear for anyone who's feeling a bit low.

Notice Me - Notice Me - Alli Simpson

Once upon a time I loved Cody Simpson and I eventually found his sister Alli. I don't like too many of her songs but this is one of the ones I really loved. It's basically about someone doing everything just to be noticed by someone. I mean, personally, don't agree with going to the ends of the earth just to get someone to give you the time of day, but the songs very catchy and lovely. This song makes me feel quite nostalgic too because I loved it a good few years ago!

Favourite Lyric : 'If these tears were gasoline I'd light a fire, make you notice me'

Happy Xmas (War Is Over) - Power To The People - John Lennon

Another one that's managed to sneak it's way back to the December playlist. This is possibly my favourite Christmas song ever so it doesn't surprise me that it's back. I think that this song is a Christmas song that makes you think. It's not all about how great Christmas is (although it is great), it's about what's going on whilst we open presents and eat loads of food. Such a powerful message from a powerful man.

Favourite Lyric : ' War is over, if you want it'

You're Alright Love - Bry - Bry

Bry sang this song for a vide once with the ever lovely Dodie Clark and I loved it so much. I was so annoyed that I had to be online to listen to it and I listened to it all the time. When I heard this version I was a bit unsure because the version on the YouTube video is a bit slower (and as we know, slow sad songs are what get me) but I've learnt to love the faster version too. The song is about his sister which I think warms my heart a little bit more

I think this song really sums up my month and I found it on a playlist called 'Life Sucks' funnily enough (would recommend that to anyone who feels sad or just likes sad songs). It starts off with a phone message and I have yet to decipher what it says but one day I'll work it out. I also don't know what it's about but what I get from one line which says 'Everything will be fine' is that it's about just carrying on and everything working itself out.

Hello You Lovely Lot!

Normally these posts take me ages to write but this ones shorter than th I have been super busy this month so I've hardly updated this playlist, maybe it's because not many songs have caught my attention? Let's get started!

I talked all about this in my February Favourites but it just makes me really happy and it's a song I can really sing along with even if nobody else wants to hear it! This was also on last months playlist which just goes to show obsessed I am.

Favourite Lyric : '16 and you never even judged me'

Bitter Sweet Symphony - Urban Hymns - The Verve 


I forgot all about this song till i was listening to a playlist on Spotify and I fell in love all over gain! My Dad loves this song too which without a doubt is the reason I love it too! It's just such a classic and one of those songs that even if you don't know it, you know the tune.

Why did they have to make their album name so long, huh?! My friend Amy first played this to me and I was obsessed for a few weeks so I put it on here! I never really liked The 1975 too much but I wouldn't necessarily turn them off if their music came on, is anyone else like that with certain artists? However, I love this one.

When I first heard this album i don't think this one jumped out at me particularly but when I was walking around Uni the other day it came in shuffle and so I thought I would give it a chance and whoa, am I glad I did! I think it's maybe one of my favourites on the album now (not that anything will every overtake Cheater because that will always be my jam!

Another one that's on my favourites but possibly my favourite song of the whole month? I love a sad song and I love a ballad and this is all my favourite things about music rolled in to one. How can I not love it?

I found this on a 00's playlist on spotify and I had just completely forgotten it existed. It's just so catchy and upbeat even thought eh lyrics are not very nice really if you listen to them! I could definitely dance around my room to this!

When iTunes used to do that 12 days of Christmas thing where they gave out free things (the good old days) one of the gifts one year was the video for this. Nobody really knew about Jason Mraz at this point since it was before all the classics we know now but I loved this song straight away and have done ever since. The other day I suddenly remembered all about it and put it on. I definitely don't still know all the words...

Hymn For The Weekend - A Head Full Of Dreams - Coldplay



I really got in to this song when the video came out although it used to be my favourite on the album and I used to listen to it all the time! I forgot all about it and then all of a sudden the video appeared and I was back in to it. I think this is just such an amazing song and if it's on the setlist when I see them live I will be more than happy.

No Words - #3 - The Script


Yet another one in my favourites! This is probably my favourite song by the script and I think the lyrics are just so beautiful. The Script is always a band I can come back to no matter how long it's been since I last listened to them and one day I will see them live!

Wrapped Around Your Finger - Don't Stop (Single) - 5 Seconds Of Summer


I'm not going to lie to you all the first time I heard this song was when I saw 5SOS live. I knew it existed before then but I just never got around to listening to it so the other day I made the conscious effort to do so and thank God I did! I love this song as much as I did when I heard it for the first time live! I can't wait to see 5SOS soon and hear this live (hopefully).
