Hello you lovely lot!

If you read my blog a lot (thank you I like you a lot) then you'll know I'm OBSESSED with SprinkleOfGlitter. You will also know my best friend is called Natalie. You should then be able to work out that those two mixed together would be THE BEST DAY EVER!

So, Natalie is home from the land of the Swiss and yesterday we saw each other for the first time in six months! We sang along to so much music and ate so much food and did so much laughing! It was so nice to see her again, I've missed my bestie! Here are some very pretty *cough* photos we took of ourselves...





Then we slept in till 1pm (it was lovely, although I was slowly being pushed off the bed and Natalie stroked my shoulder at one point...bit weird). But eventually we pulled ourselves out of bed, struggled with the printer and got on the road!



And I didn't kill us (though I think i might have come close once or twice..)


We went for a look around The Bullring. The award for the best shopping centre goes to you Birmingham, you did well! We had a Starbucks then got in the queue to meet Louise!

We eventually got in the building and started to climb Mount Everest (i.e up to the fourth floor) when we heard a girl coming down say 'Darcy is there by the way!'. I thought I was going to explode... If you're not down with the kids and don't know who Darcy is, she is Louise's 4 year old daughter! In a video a year or two ago Louise asked her if she liked One Direction and she said 'raisins'...so there you have it.

We queued all the way around the room and listened to a man tell people off for taking photos (how exciting, bet he loves his job). FINALLY it was time for us to meet Louise!

We were both nervous for some reason, I think Natalie was more nervous than I was but I know that when I went to see Alfie I genuinely thought I was going to vomit everywhere. Laaavely. As we walked up I saw Louise look at me and both our eyes kind of lit up. She said 'I know you from somewhere...give me a minute...I'll get it right!'. I eventually had to tell her she had met me in Coventry and I had asked her to record a video for my friend Natalie who she could finally meet!

Louise and Darcy signed both our books and I was smiling so much I thought I would cry. I didn't cry though. Go me. We struggled to climb back down the stairs with our shaky legs, went to MAC (girls will be girls) and got back in my car to sing some more!

All in all I had the best two days ever. I was with my best friend and I got to meet my idol AGAIN (and her lovely daughter)! I am one lucky girl!

Hello you lovely lot!

So, here we are, as much as I hate to admit it! The final review of 'Life With A Sprinkle Of Glitter' *collective sob please and thank you*. I have enjoyed reading this book ever so much, it has been a huge ray of sunlight in a very dark time what with exams, falling outs and losing family members. I am so grateful to Louise for not only writing the book and giving me the opportunity to review it, but for everything she has done throughout my life to bring me small bits of happiness. Now I'm getting emotional so we shall move on...

This chapter was not unlike any of the others! Filled with comical bits, great bits of advice, lovely glossy pages and little quotes! I knew that this was going to be the chapter for me, I am rubbish with boys. When I say rubbish, I mean rubbish. My first kiss was in a toilet at a house party with a boy who had been sick about 3 minutes before (he had water and brushed his teeth). So yes, that's my life experience with boys...ANYWAY

All About Love






So, the sections for 'All About Love' were...




BOYS AND LURVE

As I said above, I am not very good with boys...or lurve. So reading this was great! It was nice to read the story of Louise's first kiss, it made me feel a bit less bad about mine I must admit. I feel much more clued up now about some things and with the silly stories thrown in there this chapter really was a joy to read!

DATING

I have never been on a date (woe is me, cue the violins!). So, I'm not very experienced in that area...obviously. This chapter made me laugh no end! Full of funny stories, including one of my personal favourites 'The Poo Man Date'! All of this really made this a stand out chapter and with the small pieces of advice at the end I think I would feel pretty confident if someone were to ask me out on a date (I say that, I wouldn't, I'd be shaking in my own boots (is that a saying?) this is too many brackets I'll stop)

BONDING WITH BABY

Now you might be able to guess by the fact I'm only 18 (though if you have a child and you are my age then you go girl, I can barely get out of bed in the morning let alone have a child!) and the fact that I have rubbish luck with boys, I do not have a baby. However, I adore Darcy. She seems like the sweetest little thing and although I'm sure she has her troublesome days, her little comments in Louise's videos make me smile no end. This chapter was all types of lovely, it even brought a little tear to my eye! It was so nice to read stories of how Louise and Darcy bonded and if my relationship with my future baby is anything like that then I will be so proud and happy!

BEING KIND

I have always liked to think of myself as a kind person, but when I look back I know it hasn't always been this way. Unless you are perfect there have been times when we've all been a little nasty. However, I've grown up and I've moved on from that! I have also had very dark times in my life where the kindness of other people has got me through the nastiness of others. Reading the bit about 'little bits of happiness that we don't necessarily notice' made me smile so much. Mine today was Natalie saying 'I love you you're the best'. Louise is right, its lovely to be appreciated. This chapter really inspired me to be super kind to others since everyone knows what it's like to feel poopy. And I hope that I can, as Louise puts it 'spread a sprinkle of glitter wherever I go'.

Final Impressions

I have nothing but lovely words to say about this book. It is something that Louise should be so so proud of. Every section brought something positive to my day and gave me a different outlook on life. Full of tips and stories it's something that I wanted to read all in one go but I limited myself to a chapter a day! However, I would not hesitate to pick it up on a down day and just read it all. If you've read my 'TOP TEN: Youtubers' then you'll know that 'Having Hope' is my favourite Louise video and is something I can turn to every time I feel like nothing will get better and I will feel crappy for life, this is now my physical version of that video. I even got a bit emotional at the 'Toodlepip' bit (there was actual tears, no shame). Louise means a lot to me which sounds very silly because she has no idea who I am really but she has been a constant support for me and I am so thankful that I found her. There is not a single doubt in my mind that I would be a different person if it wasn't for Louise. I feel like I'm a different person after this book too. I have taken so many things on board and learnt alot that I know will stick with me and when I am old and grey I'm sure I'll think 'I remember that 'sprinkleofglitter' book and it said *insert beautiful quote/message here*. This book solidifies just how proud I am of Louise, from watching her small videos hoping for some idea of how I could make my face look a bit better to this, a published book! If you are a fan of Louise or even if you just need some advice with certain things, I would wholeheartedly recommend this book! You don't even need to read it all like I did, you can dip in and out as you please on certain areas that you wan't to hear about! The book is not only a lovely read but it is stunning to look at! All flowery and sparkly, it screams (maybe not screams, more just gently says) 'Louise'. I would love to thank Louise for writing this, I'm sure I'm not the first (and I certainly won't be the last) person that this book has had a positive effect on. It feels like Louise is my older sister giving me tips on how to grow up gracefully! I am so lucky to have been given the opportunity to receive the book early and let everyone know how great it really is!

Hello you lovely lot!

It's time for part three of my 'Life With A Sprinkle Of Glitter Review'! I decided to do this review in sections so people could read these reviews in any order if they're attention is immediately drawn to certain chapters or they might read the first one and go 'wow, Becky is so boring' and never read my blog ever again. You choose (please don't choose the second one...)!

So, this review is going to be about the chapter called 'Need to Knows'.








 I was excited to read this chapter because, even though I am 18, there is still a lot I need to know about life and lots that I have yet to learn! So, the sections! This chapter was split in to these sections...



SURVIVING EDUCATION

Now, I like to think I've pretty much survived the worst of my education. I have just finished my A-Levels and if I do get in to University I am going to try so hard to achieve what I want because it's so much money! Despite that I definitely think that this chapter would be very useful or anyone going through secondary school or in the year below me. However, if you are like me you might find yourself reading through it and just nodding. Everything in this chapter is the truth! Louise's little mannerisms made this chapter so great even though it wasn't necessarily aimed at me!

BULLYING

Now, this chapter speaks to me. I have been bullied very badly from year 6 to around year 12. The bullying developed in to different types throughout the years but it still existed. I think I might make a whole blog post about it soon to give advice to anyone needing it, but this chapter pretty much sums it all up! It gives brilliant tips and things i definitely should have done! Even shed a little tear, i am glad that I stood up to the bullies and my life is now much better!

ONLINE SAFETY

Being 18 I like to think I am pretty safe on the internet but it hasn't always been so! This chapter wasn't just about 'don't talk to strangers!' (although there was an element of that because that is obviously very important). It has stuff about shopping, banking and blogging too (which are three of my favourite things!).

BODY CONFIDENCE

I was lucky enough to hear Louise talk all about this at 'LouiseLIVE' and I do have a video of the whole thing but it's mainly me sniffling in the background because it touched me. It really did. I have always been one to struggle with body image, mainly because of the bullying. So to hear someone talk about how beautiful everyone in the room was and how great they should all feel got a bit emotional. This chapter was the same. The general feel was if you've got it, love it, flaunt it! Who cares if you have a bit of a jiggly tummy or legs that you think look like sticks?! I certainly don't, neither does any human being!

COMFORT ZONES

I was so looking forward to this chapter! I am not good of stepping out of my comfort zone and when I do, I spend most of the time feeling nervous. Alfie's book signing for example was a huge step out. It was in a place that i had never been too and my first ever book signing! However, once I had done it I was so happy! I loved reading the stories that Louise had put in this chapter! It made me feel less alone about the nerves I get when I do something that's not usually my thing! If you really struggle with saying yes to things then this chapter is the one for you!


I can't believe this is the second to last review? I only have one more section to go! I have loved every page of this book so far and it's so nice to know Louise is loving reading my reviews!


Crazy or what?! I can't wait to read the last chapter and do my last review although I'll be so sad I've finished it! I may even read it again!

Hello you lovely lot!

So, here we are again. Yes, I really did read the next chapter and upload another blog post that fast, I couldn't help myself!

The next section in the book was 'Create' and I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it compared to the last chapter as I've never been oh so creative and my idea of 'baking' is buying cakes from Tesco and pretending I've made them myself. However, as I previously mentioned I am (hopefully) going to University next year and I want my room to be a safe haven full of flowery things, silly photos of me and Natalie and maybe a poster of Harry Styles (I don't know why I say maybe, there will be one).

Yet again, this chapter was full of glossy pages with pretty pictures and doodles and a happy quote every now and then!




So, as I said in my last review the chapters are split in to little sections and the sections for 'Create' were...


SETTING UP HOME

Now, I obviously don't have my own house. However, it was nice to hear stories about Louise's experiences and get some tips about what things I should take to Uni with me (Harry Styles is still coming with me for future reference). I really enjoyed this chapter though it wasn't necessarily aimed at me.

PRETTIFYING YOUR ROOM

I loved this chapter. Around two or three years ago I took all the wallpaper off my walls and painted my whole room, I changed the curtains, the lot. Now I love my room (even if it is a bit messy...a bit...haha). This chapter made me want to tidy my room and fill it with lovely little sparkly things and all sorts!

CRAFTS

As I said I'm not the most creative person alive. I may possibly be the least creative. Even though I took Drama at college I like to just be given something, don't get me to do my own stuff, I don't like it! However, when Natalie is home I am going to drag her to Ikea with me so I can buy all sorts of pretty things to make for my Uni room, so Natalie if you're reading this, that's happening. Please. This bit was full of little instructions for easy to make things which is exactly what I need!

ANTI-BAKING

Now, I took GCSE Food Technology when I was at secondary school and I hated it (got a C though didn't I, wahey). I can not bake to save my life. It stresses me out, makes a mess and looks crap when it comes out although usually my baking tastes ok! So I knew this section was for me! Reading about Louise's baking fails made me smile and realise I'm not alone in being incapable of making a simple cake! I can't wait to try 'Chocolate Bark/Chocolate Pizza'. Even though I'm lactose intolerant I will risk it all for some Dairy Milk...or some Galaxy, not biased here.


After my caution with this chapter and how it might not be for me I was so happy to find so many easy things I could do and reading Louise's lovely little stories was hilarious as always! I cannot recommend this book enough and I can't believe I'm half way through?! I don't want it to end!

Hello you lovely lot!

So, as some of you may know I am part of 'The Sprinklerinos Book Club' (and very proud to be a member may I add). So, I got sent the a signed copy of the book a few weeks before general release so I could tell you all how lovely it is! It came the other day along with a few sweet treats and today I finally had the time to sit down and read the first chapter 'Glitz'.

I thought it would be better to do this review in sections so that it's not the biggest blog post ever and so I don't forget anything that I want to say about it in the mass of writing!

First Impressions

When I came home on Thursday after just finishing my final exam my Mum said 'Becky a book or something came for you?' and I squealed. I was SO excited to get the book and start reading! I opened it and gasped (literally, that's not a joke). It is so beautiful. Full of colour and sparkles and glossy pages it is easily the most aesthetically pleasing book I ever did see. I even made sure I told Louise how beautiful it was!


I had a little cry at this moment. Louise has always been someone I've looked up to and someone who has had a huge impact on my life, whether she knows it or not. To see her come so far and to finally release something as amazing as this, I am very proud of her.

All of the pages in this book are beautiful. Every single one has lovely pictures and a glossy feel (can we make that mandatory for all books please?). The front cover even has glitter on it that you can FEEL (I KNOW RIGHT, IT'S GREAT)


Some pages even have lovely little quotes on them and some summaries of what's been said in the previous section...



Another first impression that I had is that the writing style is SO Louise. If you are scared of this book being 'not very Louise' or being all serious and what not, it's not. It's like you're listening to Louise talking in one of her videos and there's little jokes in brackets, kind of similar to the way I write which makes me ever so happy!

Glitz

So there are 6 sections inside the book (including 'Aloha Sprinklerinos' and 'Toodlepip!)'. The other four are 'Glitz', 'Create', 'Need To Knows', and 'All About Love'. Then each of these sections is split in to smaller sections. The sections for Glitz were..



BEAUTY AND PAMPERING

I loved this section. I am all about looking snazzy and feeling great! It was nice to read some tips from someone who always looks lovely in the hope that I too can always look like that (although you know, I doubt it's gonna happen). It made me want to sit in a bath for hours and do my makeup all nice even though I've been sat in bed all morning with a hangover. Woe is me.

PARTYING

Now, since I've just told you all I have a hangover we now know I like parties. I'm not a big party go-er to be honest. I like a party and I like a drink but I'm not out every weekend. Louise gave some tips for dinner parties (and I now really want to go to one or have one) and also some tips for drinking (which it's clear that I need).

MEETING CELEBRITIES

This section made me a giggle a lot. It included 'The Kylie Minogue Story' (if you know, you know) which is my favourite story that Louise has ever told. I like to think I'm quite cool when it comes to meeting celebs but I'm not. The moment I saw Louise in real life I started to cry but by the time she got round to me I had calmed down and felt like I was on top of the world.

THE ART OF SHOPPING

I love me some shopping. Just yesterday I went out and spent like 50 quid on makeup (it was payday, I was allowed). I completely agree with everything Louise says in this section, all the tips for a perfect shopping trip.

TRAVELLING IN STYLE

I don't travel very often, I live at home with my parents and so I only really go to surrounding cities and never anywhere very far without my family. However, with this being the year I start University (ha ha or not thanks to the exams I got given) I have a feeling that I will be travelling a lot more so I'm glad I now know some tips on how to make the best of my time!



Overall I already love the book and I'm only 77 pages in! It is so Louise and so beautiful and pretty and just so great! I can't wait to read the other sections and voice my opinions on them (which will hopefully be very soon). You can preorder the book now if you so wish.
