Palette Problems

Hello You Lovely Lot!

I'm addicted to Eyeshadow Palettes.

I wear eyeshadow every single day but i never used to. I bought a Naked palette a few years ago despite one of my friends telling me I would never wear it and it was a stupid purchase. I had another friend telling me that I could buy what I wanted. Turns out the first friend was right to an extent. I wore eyeshadow the first few days but I was never very good at it so I just never wore it. I just started to see it is a bit of a waste of money and was disappointed. Then in September I met Nicole.

Nicole amazes me every day with her makeup skills. She always manages to look glamorous and like a bloody princess! She did my eyeshadow one day and I absolutely loved it so I went out shopping. I now on 4 more eyeshadow palettes than I did when I moved to University. Some people may say thats unhealthy, I would be inclined to agree. I now can't not wear eyeshadow. I usually just wear a subtle gold or pink and I have yet to master to smokey eye but one day guys...one day. I just thought I would give you a little run down of the palettes I own and what I think of each one so that if you're like I was a few months ago, you have a bit of guidance.

Chocolate Bar - Too Faced

I got this for Christmas and I have fallen head over heels in love with it. Nicole actually owns this and used it on me which is probably why I wanted it so much. It is full of such beautiful colours, some of which I have yet to try because I'm scared. The best part is that the shadows are made of cocoa powder so they all smell lovely and taste like icing sugar (that's not a joke...try it if you own one). This means the names are all lovely too and names after sweets!

Favourite Shades - Marzipan, White Chocolate, Créme Brulee, Champagne Truffle

Au Naturel - Sleek

This was a spur of the moment kind of purchase when I was shopping with my friend Chloe. I hardly ever use this palette and I really think I ought to make more of an effort with it. I'm only brave enough to use two shades, one of which is a basic white shade for a base. I am a wimp I know. The colours are beautiful and Sleek has yet to let me down so I presume when I can get up the guts to try something knew, they'll be lovely to use!

Favourite Shades - Top Left Hand (Cream/White), Top Right Hand (Goldish/Taupe)

Hollywood - Tanya Burr Cosmetics

This was the first new palette I bought after meeting Nicole. I had wanted a Tanya Burr product for a while but I don't wear nail varnish or lip gloss so an eyeshadow palette was perfect! I might even purchase another one once I start wearing different colours. I don't really use this palette on its own but I use it with my other palettes and I think I would be lost without it!

Favourite Shades - Gold Coin, Enchantment

Gwen Stefani Palette - Urban Decay

I have made a whole different post on this because I am in LOVE. This is the most expensive palette I own and my bank account did not thank me for buying it but my eyes have. I use around eight shades in here and I can definitely see myself using the others in the future. All the colours are just super pigmented but so easy to blend. Also has the biggest mirror I have in it which is really useful.

Favourite Shades - Blonde, Bathwater, Pop, 1987

Naked Palette - Urban Decay

As I said earlier this was the first palette I ever bought and I think it's probably a good starter. Urban Decay shadows are the best I've tried so far. As I've mentioned I like to wear golds so this is pretty much my ideal palette since it's full of neutral gold-ish colours. I've only hit pan on one of these and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing? I go through eyeshadows at a rate of knots now so I'm just hoping you can buy some of these on their own!

Favourite Shades - Sin, Half Baked

Naked 3 Palette - Urban Decay

Despite not having this for as long I have hit pan on two of these. I didn't wear this at all when I got it and I was so annoyed that I hadn't bought the Naked 2 instead but now this is my baby. It's perfect for just creating a soft pink (or a strong pink colour if you can pull that off, I know I can't). I used to only ever use this with other shadows and swore that it couldn't be used a stand alone palette. However, even though I do tend to use other shadows on top, you can create a lovely look with just a few of the shades!

Favourite Shades - Strange, Dust, Buzz

So there you have it ladies and gents! Those are the palettes that I currently own but I fully intend on expanding my collection so expect updates soon! I'm excited to start experimenting more with shadows when I have my hair done because I think different looks will suit me so it could be quite difficult.

Thanks For Reading!
