January Favourites 2016

by - 03:07

Hello You Lovely Lot!

It's the end of January, although I'm not sure how it went so fast?! I'm now nineteen! So, I thought I would once again enlighten you all by telling you what's got me through the month!

Beauty / Skincare :

This month I have an absolute clear winner. I got this as a Christmas present but I have been obsessed with it ever since...

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette

This is one of the most amazing things I have ever used and possibly my new favourite eyeshadow palette (sorry Gwen Stefani). All of the colours are amazing even if I'm not brave enough to use all of them yet. It has the most amazing base shade called 'White Chocolate' and a gorgeous highlight called Champagne Truffle! I also love that all the shadows are made with 100% natural cocoa powder so they taste like icing sugar when you whirl a big fluffy brush through them!

Favourite Shades : White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Marzipan, Crème Brulee, Champagne Truffle

Music :

This month there hasn't really been an artist or an album that I have loved for the entire month, it's more been artists that I've got in to at the end of the month which is a shame but I thought I'd write about two in particular that in the last few days I've learnt to love again...

The Wombats

When I looked at my review of the year on Spotify it showed me that last January I really loved The Wombats and they're who I listened to the most that month! So, I decided to give them another listen and I love them just as much as I used to! Their poppy sound gets me every time and all their songs are so catchy, both old and new!

Top Five Songs

5. Jump Into The Fog
4. Kill The Director
3. Anti-D
2. 1966
1. Greek Tragedy

and...

Lewis Watson

My friend Maddie actually got me in to Lewis Watson a few years ago and we went to see him in concert! I've loved his music ever since but I go through phases of listening to him then I forget about him for a while. His music is beautiful and the lyrics are always lovely! I need to make more of an effort to see him in concert again because it was one of the best nights of my life!

Top Five Songs

5. Close
4. Hold On
3. Colourblind
2. Made Up Love Song #43 (Guillemots Cover)
1. I Won't Mind (Zayn Malik Cover)

Other Songs I've Loved

Stevie Don't Wonder - Olly Murs
Youth - Daughter
Never Enough - One Direction
Drops Of Jupiter - Train
Stop And Stare - OneRepublic

TV Show :

Now, I used to watch this programme religiously but over the summer I lost track a bit so I gave up. Now I'm back at Uni and trying to find ways to waste my time I've got hooked again..

Hollyoaks

I watched about 4 omnibuses in two days and I am finally caught up! This is the only soap I really like, maybe it's because it's younger people in it? I also live really close to the set now and even saw Jason and Holly in a cafe when I was with my Dad (I nearly died...). I'm so excited to find out what happens next, hopefully I can keep on top of it this time...

Purchase :

If you know me you know I love lipstick. So this month I've gone a bit lipstick mad. I also discovered a new kind of lipstick...liquid mate. These are basically liquid when you put them on and then dry completely matte and they are stunning. They stay on all day and don't come off when you eat, drink or do whatever you like...within reason. I have two brands so far; LA Splash and MAC and my favourite is ...

MAC Liquid Lipstick - Feels So Grand

This is not a colour I would usually go for but my friend Lizzie convinced me to not go for a dark one this time! It's so amazing and suits me more than I thought it would! As I say it stays on pretty much all day (my LA Splash ones don't stay on quite as long) and is completely dry within a few minutes whereas the LA Splash ones feel a bit tacky almost for a while!

There's no debate when it comes to this

This is (obviously) from New Year! I spent New Year with Natalie again and it was just as good (if not better) than last year. Even if I was ill thanks to either an illness, some curry or alcohol, Natalie still managed to get completely wasted and it was the most hilarious thing I've ever seen in my life! She said the funniest things and made the whole night. When you don't see your best friend much it's moments like these that you really treasure.

What's Exciting About Next Month?

Next month is *hopefully* the month that my friend Amy comes to visit! I can't wait for her to be here in Liverpool with me. It's also my grandmas birthday so I'm going to see my whole family, including my dogs, for the first time since I left.

My January has been amazing. I'm one year older, seen most of my best friends and I'm back in Liverpool (and everything seems the same....Wombats reference? No? Never mind). Hopefully February is just as good to me!

Thanks For Reading!
