February 2017 Playlist

Hello You Lovely Lot!

It's that time again, time for you to all hear the music I've bee loving! For some reason I've been a bit funny with music this week. Normally I add songs to my monthly playlists every few days but for some reason for most of February I didn't add many and got really bored of the ones that were on there. I eventually added to it and fell in love with the last few songs and haven't listened to the first half of this playlist in a while. However, either way, they were songs I loved in February.

Here's the playlist from this time last year...

Geek in the Pink - Geek in the Pink (Single) - Jason Mraz
The Sound - The Sound (SIngle) - The 1975
PILLOWTALK - PILLOWTALK (Single) - ZAYN
No Words - #3 (Deluxe Version_ - The Script
Call Your Girlfriend - Body Talk - Robyn
Boy Without A Car - Wake Up (Deluxe) - The Vamps
Hymn For The Weekend - A Head Full Of Dreams - Coldplay
Somebody Else - Somebody Else (Single) - The 1975
Wrapped Around Your Finger - Don't Stop (EP)- 5 Seconds of Summer
Army - Delirium (Deluxe) - Ellie Goulding
Bitter Sweet Symphony - Urban Hymns - The Verve

and so, without further ado, let's move on to this year!

F.E.A.R. - Music Of The Spheres - Ian Brown

My Dad actually got me in to this. he showed me the music video and pointed out that the lyrics always spell 'FEAR'. For example, the first line is 'For Each A Road' and so on and so on, you get the idea. I just think it's super clever. It's also just a rally good song even if that wasn't a thing.

Favourite Lyric : 'Forget everything and remember, for everything a reason'

Feeling A Moment - The Singles - Feeder

I have liked this song for a few years and this is one of the only few songs I know. Dad got me in to them again and after discovering that I would actually be going to see them live at the end of March I decided to delve a bit deeper in to their music. I ended up just falling back in love with this song because I think it's incredible. I think I might even cry when i ehar it live, but I do that with most concerts.

Favourite Lyric : 'Don't ever feel that you're alone, I'd never let you down'

Misery Business - RIOT! - Paramore

I was never a huge Paramore fan when i was a kid, I only knew two songs which I did love but I don't know why i never fell head over heels for them. I reckon I was trying to be cool at that age and Paramore didn't seem cool? I don't know. Either way, Dodie (doddleoddle on YouTube) did an acoustic mashup with her friends quite a while ago and this was one of the songs that was included. I always forgot to look around for it but eventually I did and I loved this song so much!

Favourite Lyric : 'She's got it out for me but I wear the biggest smile'

Drink Up - a girl a bottle a boat - Train

I was listening to old Train songs a while ago and discovered they had new music. I was obsessed with this song but a few days but it still deserves it's place here. Train just write some of the catchiest songs I have to say. I have yet to really listen to the rest of the album so maybe a review is in order? I don't know. Either way, this is pretty good!

Favourite Lyric : 'I got memories on tap, drink up'

Must Get Out - Songs About Jane - Maroon 5

I really miss the old Maroon 5 I have to say. I found this on a playlist called 'Singing Loud in the Car' by Zoella. I hadn't heard this song but it is from the same album as the old classics like She Will Be Loved. I think this is just such a lovely song and it's probably the one I used to play most from this playlist.

Favourite Lyric : 'There's only so much I can do for you after all of the things you put me through'

People Keep Talking - People Keep Talking - Hoodie Allen

I think i said this in my last playlist post but I go through phases with Hoodie Allen. I'm currently not in a phase and haven't listened to him in a while but this was one of the songs I used to love when I went through my phase in February. I think I literally used to have this on repeat. It wasn't one that I had heard before because I hadn't listened to this album too much before February. However, I think it's become a staple in the list of Hoodie songs that I love

Favourite Lyric : 'I never may get that cover of the Rolling Stones, didn't fit the vibe they were going for'

F*** Apologies - Mad Love. - JoJo ft Wiz Khalifa

If I'm going to be honest, I really don't like this song anymore. It was one of those songs that I played again and again until I got sick to the back teeth of it. It came out a while ago and Natalie made me listen to it. I loved it but forgot all about it until February. I do however, still like the message that it gives off. It's not always necessary to say sorry if someone has done you wrong. Feel like I can relate to that quite a bit.

Favourite Lyric : 'Honestly, I was just about to pick up the phone...and then I realised that I didn't do nothing wrong'

Act My Age - People Keep Talking - Hoodie Allen

This is another one that I hadn't heard before February but after I fell in love with other songs on the album I decided I would listen to the whole thing. I think when it turns to March I forget all about the songs from the months previous playlist because I haven't listened to this in weeks! I think Hoodie just comes up with such catchy songs. He's not anything like the music I usually love but I love him all the same.

Favourite Lyric : 'I liked her pic on Instagram, one day she hit me back'

Who's Laughing Now - Who You Are - Jessie J

I think I will always love this song but in February I really rekindled my love for it. I feel like I can relate to it quite easily so maybe that's why I feel such a strong connection towards it. I haven't listened to any new Jessie J stuff (if there even is any new stuff?). I went through a phase a few years ago of loving her and I even went to see her perform live once! In my opinion this is one of her best songs and a song I loved it throughout February.

Favourite Lyric : 'Have you forgotten how you would make me feel when you dragged my spirits down?'

Car Radio - Vessel - Twenty One Pilots

I first heard this on a FineBros video, not that I remember which one. I really liked it but didn't bother to look for it on Spotify. I then heard it when I was waiting for Busted to come on stage and I knew I had to find it when I got home. So that's exactly what I did and throughout February I loved it. I don't know many TOP songs, only the ones that have been in the charts (also I know Goner thanks to Doddleoddle). However, songs like this make me think I should listen to them more because I love this!

Favourite Lyric : 'My lungs will fill and then deflate'

Little Lion Man - Sigh No More - Mumford and Sons

I had never really listened to much Mumford and Sons but I obviously knew of them (as I think most British people do). I'm not even sure what type of music you would class it as...country? Folk? Pop? Who knows?! However, I know that I love this song. It's so very sweet but also completely heartbreaking at the same time. I think this might just be one of my favourite songs ever, it's THAT good. Towards the end of February I remember getting slightly bored with the songs on my playlist but this was one that stood the test of time.

Favourite Lyric : 'It was your heart on the line, I really fucked it up this time...didn't I my dear?'

You Don't Know Me - You Don't Know Me (Single) - Jax Jones ft Raye

Me and Jack were obsessed with this song for a while and would sing it around the house all the time. I think my obsession with it first started when i was dancing to it with my friends from English Literature and we were meant to be doing work. After that we went mad for it. It's totally different from the music I normally go for but honestly I would listen to it on repeat again and again and I couldn't help myself.

Favourite Lyric : 'Do you want a drink? Nah, thanks for asking.'

Human - Human - Rag'n'Bone Man

I think that this man is incredible. I was listening to another one of his songs, skin, the other day and I was amazed. He is just something else. I think I was quite late with liking this song because he had already won a BRIT before I even knew it, does that mean I was late to the party? I need to give the other songs on this album a listen because if they're all similar to this then I'm sure I would enjoy them!

Favourite Lyric : 'I'm only human, I make mistakes'

ghost - the morning (all of the songs) - Lewis Watson

Now. I bloody love Lewis Watson. I think he might even be my favourite singer/songwriter. He writes the most beautiful songs and this is one I found recently. I can't remember if I knew this before. Basically he got rid of all of his old albums from Spotify to release this, hence why it's called 'all of the songs'. It contained all of the albums, including his newest one at the time 'the morning'. Ghost is from that album. I didn't really listen to that album when it came out for whatever reason so, with the release of his new album (review coming soon), I found it and this.

Favourite Lyric : 'I float by unnoticed by the one I loved most, the one I held closest'

So there you have it everyone! I know it's late but those are all the songs I really loved throughout February!

Thanks For Reading!
