March 2016 Playlist
Hello You Lovely Lot!
Obviously I listen to music all the time but I feel like this month I’ve listened to so much. Maybe that’s because I spent quite a lot o this month on my own (can you hear the violins because I can) so what better way to spend my time than to listening to music? I tend to use iTunes more than Spotify nowadays so I’ll try to get back in to using Spotify because I love writing these posts and looking back on the songs that I’ve loved!
Boy Without A Car – Wake Up – The Vamps
Kind of half way through this month I found
out that my friend Amy would come and see The Vamps with me! I love The Vamps
and even though Amy doesn’t I’m still so excited. So, I decided to give their
album more of a listen (even though I am already head over heels in love with
it). This wasn’t a song that I particularly loved when I first listened to the
album because it just didn’t grab me like some of the others! However, it is
probably now one of my favourites on the album. This was on last months
playlist too which just goes to show how much I really have enjoyed it!
Favourite Lyric : 'I don't know how we got this far, I'm just another boy without a car'

This is another one that was on last months
post too and even though it is on this playlist, I only really listened to it
at the beginning of the month. Although I won’t turn it off when it comes on, I
don’t necessarily go to play it voluntarily now! However, I still stand by the
fact that it is a lovely song although I also stand by the fact that I liked
the live version I found on YouTube more.

Natalie sent this to me because Meghan
Trainor is our girl (not literally, that would be weird). We loved her first
album so much so when I heard that this was a new song I was on it as soon as I
had a spare minute! I don’t think I was 100% sure when I first heard it, maybe
because it’s not her typical sound I guess? However, now it’s something that I
play all the time and pretty much know every single word. I think it will
always remind me of my time in Berlin because me and Natalie danced around to
it a fair few times.
Favourite Lyric : 'Call me beautiful, so original'
This is now at the top of my ’25 most
played’ songs on iTunes! The minute this came out I loved it and I hadn’t
listened to it in ages but when I found out that I was going to see the boys
live I played it again and my obsession started to grow once more. This was in my
October and November favourites which I think is a first for me to still be so
obsessed with something after so long. I think this is the song I’m most
excited to see live and I will be singing my heart out to every single word.
Favourite Lyric : 'All his dirty secrets are banging on the bedroom floor, you know she aint a friend at all'

I’ve loved this song for a while and I can’t
remember how I first found it but when I found out that Conor was one of the
supports for The Vamps I jumped straight back on it. This song also makes me
think of Natalie because we both went through a stage of just loving it. I don’t
know many songs by Conor so I think I really need to listen to all of his music
before I see him (not that I’ve got much time left).
Favourite Lyric : 'Nothing sounds better than 'hit the road jack''
This is another one of my favourites from
this Vamps album and I think it always has been. I told Amy I might cry if they
play this but she told me she would leave so not sure how that’s gonna go down.
I listen to this pretty much every day on the way to Uni and back or just sat
in my room. It’s one that I can really sing a long to and I don’t really care
who hears to be honest. I just think it’s a beautiful song and I don’t really
know what else to say. Go and give it a listen!
Favourite Lyric : 'Who shuts the curtain now I'm gone?'

I don’t know why but one night I decided I
should listen to this lot. My friend Maddie used to love them and I never
really got the hype (mainly because I never listened to them) but now that I’ve
seen a few more people raving about them I decided that I should look in to
them! This was the only song that I downloaded but I’m glad I did! I haven’t
decoded whether it’s my usual type of music to be honest because although I
love my One Direction and my Little Mix I also like heavier stuff like GreenDay
and Frank Turner so my iTunes is a real mix of genres. All I know is that I
enjoy this song!
Favourite Lyric : 'Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?'

I am also seeing 5SOS next month high
pitched SCREAM. I looked at the
setlist for the European tour and saw that this was on it so, since I didn’t know
it too well, I thought it would be a good idea to listen to it and all of a
sudden I loved it! I don’t know all of the words yet but every time I listen to
it I know a little bit more so hopefully come the actual concert I’ll know it
off by heart. Definitely an unsung hero this song.
Favourite Lyric : 'We get so disconnected'

I love
this album so much and I had just forgotten about it (how very dare I, I am
appaled with myself I have to say). This album was pretty much my 2014
soundtrack and when I listen to it now I still love every single song.
Especially this one. I just think it is beautifully written and beautifully
sang too (as is every song by The Vamps). When I went to see them live last
time they played this and I just absolutely loved it so I’m really hoping that
there will be a similar situation on the 5th of April!
Favourite Lyric : 'People like to talk, but I can't understand a word'

Natalie has loved this girl for ages so
when her album came out on Spotify I knew that I had to listen to it and I was
instantly hooked by this song. I think I already knew it from somewhere, maybe
it was Natalie sending me snapchats? I don’t know. I think the fact I already
knew it a bit made it even more appealing and I think I only listened to one
other song from the album (which I also loved) because I just wanted to listen
to this again and again.
Favourite Lyric : 'Somewhere in the corner under clouds of marijuana'

This is such an old song but was always one
of my favourites on this album. I’m not sure what made me listen to this album
again, I think I was at Uni and feeling a bit low. So, what do you do when you’re
low? You listen to sad songs that make you feel even lower but also somehow
make you feel happier. This is one of those songs for me for whatever reason
but I think Ed Sheeran in general is good for those moods.
Favourite Lyric : 'I don;t cry tears of missing you anymore, they're more like tsunami tides in my eyes'

This was kind of a song I listened to on
and off throughout the month. When I was on the plane to and from Berlin I was
feeling a bit anxious so I put this on and it calmed me down no end. I guess it
just made me feel empowered maybe? I would love to see this but unfortunately,
as of yet, I have no tickets to go and see Little Mix. This album has
definitely been a soundtrack for 2016 so far for me, this song especially.
Favourite Lyric : 'It's funny how the tables turned'

This was another ‘Uh Oh I haven’t listened
to this song in ages better scrub up on my lyrical knowledge ‘ song and I think
I’d forgotten just how much I used to love this song. It’s just so beautiful to
me for whatever reason. Maybe it’s the lyrics, maybe it’s Brad’s angelic voice?
We may never know ladies and gentlemen. I can’t remember if they played this
the last time I saw then but if they did I can tell you that it was brilliant
and if they didn’t then I would have been highly upset since it was a favourite
from day one.
Favourite Lyric : 'I'd rather crash I'd rather crawl'
So, there we have it! That's all the music I've been loving this month and probably the music I'll be loving next month too...
Thanks For Reading!
