April 2016 Playlist
Hello You Lovely Lot!
So yes, it is that time of the month once again where I tell you all the songs that have been the soundtrack to my month! These playlists seem to be getting shorter and shorter but I keep finding that the same music is rolling over from the months before and you don't need to hear about them all over again!
Death of a Bachelor - Death of a Bachelor - Panic! At The Disco
I decided to try and listen to Panic! At The Disco because I listened to doddleoddle's cover of this (which you can watch here!) and I loved it straight away! I then found the video for this listened to it pretty much every day at the beginning of the mont. My love for it has since wavered but I think that's just because I found loads of new music that took over.
Favourite Lyric : 'Happily Ever After, how could I ask for more?'
Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus - Wheatus
Half way through this month Busted announced their support acts. One of which is Emma Blackery and the other is Wheatus. My Dad is SO jealous because he loves Whetaus and I probably ought to listen to the other songs too but this is just a classic. I already know all the words so it's not like I had to learn it but I just wanted to remind myself of how amazing it is.
Favourite Lyric : 'Her boyfriends a dick, he brings a gun to school'
Lush Life - Lush Life Single - Zara Larsson
I had heard this loads of times and I wasn't really a fan until I went to The Vamps. It was one of the videos that they played before the concert started and I fell in love. I downloaded it the minute I got home and listened to it on repeat for a good few days. This song just makes me feel so summery and I think I will continue to love it through next month!
Favourite Lyric : 'No tricks, no bluffs, I'm just better of without them cuffs'
Chelsea Dagger - Costello Music - The Fratellis
In Nottingham we have a festival called Splendour and this year The Fratellis are playing this year. I think we can all agree this is a classic song and I remember I first heard it on the original SingStar game and fell in love with it instantly. I have to admit it is amazing on a night out even if nobody really knows the words but knows the tune to it.
Favourite Lyric : 'Gave me gear, thank you dear. Bring your sister over here, let her dance with me just for the hell of it'
Knock Em' Out - Alright, Still - Lily Allen
I first heard this when Natalie played it when I was in Berlin and straight away I wanted to know what it was. A few weeks later and suddenly I remembered so I messaged her to ask what song it was and I'm SO glad that I remembered because I have played it at least once every single day since. I think it's just such an upbeat song and I love all the talking bits in the middle. Can't believe I hadn't heard it before!
Favourite Lyric : 'Alright darlin'? You look alright, still'
Henrietta - Costello Music - The Fratellis
This was another Fratellis song that i knew but only vaguely. It's one of those songs that they play in the background of television programmes so you know the tune but didn't know it was by The Fratellis (unless you're a big fan then I presume you'd know it!). I have fallen in love with this song even though I have no idea what most of the words are, but ti does go quite fast so I feel like I have an excuse!
Favourite Lyric : 'Henrietta, we've got no flowers for you'
Disconnected - She Looks So Perfect (Single) - 5 Seconds of Summer
So this month I saw 5SOS and it was one of the best night ever! I might do a blog post on it I'm not really sure yet (even though it was over a week ago but whatever...). I knew of this song before I saw them but when I knew it was on the setlist I had to learn it and slowly loved it more and more. Now it might even be one of my favourites and I sang along live which I was proud of considering I didn't know it before the tour started!
Favourite Lyric : 'Life's a tangled web of cell phone calls and hashtag 'I don't know's'
Everything I Knew - Busted - Busted
Next month I'm seeing Busted (which there will DEFINITELY be a blog post about I have never been so excited in my life) and so I've been listening to a bit more Busted. This is one of my all time favourites although I don't think they'll play it because it's only on the UK version of this album which saddens me deeply. I already know every single Busted song there is to know so it's not like 5SOS where I have to learn the words. I just wanted to get in the right mindset (even though I listen to Busted on the regular anyway...that's not a joke, I do.)
Favourite Lyric : 'Everything I knew just went out the window. No I can't depend on you forever'
Jet Black Heart - Sounds Good Feels Good - 5 Seconds of Summer
The minute I heard this when the album came out I knew I loved it. It's probably my favourite on the album and so I thought it was only right that I rekindle my love for it before I go and see them! I won't lie to you all, I cried my eyes out when they played this and haven't really been able to listen to it since for fear of crying but I just think it's such a beautiful song and is even better live!
Favourite Lyric : 'But now that I'm broken, and now that you know it'
Vegas Lights - Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! - Panic! At The Disco
I originally started listening to this album so that I could listen to "This Is Gospel" but I ended up falling in love with this just as much if not a bit more! The first time I listened to it I knew it was going to be a favourite. It just makes me want to dance around my room I guess (and I also love the bit at the beginning and how it's used throughout the song but I don't know where it's from...)
Favourite Lyric : 'Do it 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 more time'
Stolen Moments - Wake Up - The Vamps
This is fast becoming my favourite from this album, although I do still love Cheater and it is at the top of my '25 Most Played' right now! I saw this live ('GOD BECKY, HOW MANY CONCERTS HAVE YOU BEEN TO?!' I hear you shout...2 is the answer, I just happened to have talked about them both...however I do have another one on Monday but that's besides the point...ANYWAY) and nearly cried. It was just Brad and a piano and everyone had their torches on their phones on. Those kind of songs are always my favourites to hear live. There's just something about being in that room full of light. I think it's one of the most beautiful songs by The Vamps and it deserves to be here every month!
Favourite Lyric : 'You say you don't wanna fall in, but you keep fallin'
So those are the songs that have been on repeat this month! This month has been all about finding old songs and learning to love them again, I haven't really found much new music!
Thanks For Reading!
