April Favourites 2016

Hello You Lovely Lot!

Here we are again. At my favourite blog post to write! This month I am also doing a favourites on my YouTube channel so I'm going to keep them different (so you get to hear twice the amount of favourites...lucky you!). This month has been a bit of a weird one I have to say! I was at home for around half of it and have been at Uni for the other half. I've had ups and downs but that happens every months. However, there have still been things that I have loved that I'm excited to tell you all about! So get yourselves a cup of tea (or coffee...but coffee's gross...just saying) and have a read.

Beauty / Skincare :

So this is kind of similar to what I talked about in my YouTube video but this month I have been loving liquid lipsticks! However, I am going to talk about one specific liquid lipstick here on my blog!

LA Splash Cosmetics Lip Couture Waterproof Liquid Lipstick - Innocent Vixen

I ordered this because I tried to get a Kylie Lip Kit and it didn't work. When it came it was a bit more peach than I was expecting and I really wasn't sure of it to begin with! However, it was the first nude liquid lipstick I had owned and the more I more I loved it! LA Splash sells such lovely liquid lipsticks and this is no exception. These tend to last most of the day for me and it's nice to have this shade because I can still wear a liquid lipstick without feeling like I look like I'm about to go on a night out!

Music :

This month I went to two concerts but since one of them was at the very start and one of them was half way through, I was listening to one band for a bit longer. So this month it has to be..

5 Seconds of Summer

I have loved 5SOS since I saw them live at the One Direction 'Where We Are' tour. I have to admit when I went to the tour I wasn't a massive 5SOS fan even though I had seen them at the 'Take Me Home' tour. I think I just followed the crowd of the majority of One Direction fans. However, when I saw them at WWA, I knew that it was something I would love. I have now seen them live four times. Twice with 1D and twice on their own. I have to say I don't like the second album as much as the first album but people change and their music does too. I haven't been listening to a specific album (although it has been mainly 'Sounds Good Feels Good' since that was the majority of the setlist). I talked about a few of these on my playlist post (which is here). However, the ones I haven't talked about I will write a little bit about!

Top Five Songs :

5. Heartache On The Big Screen

The person that got me in to this song is Chloe and it was only because she wanted to point out the breathing that Luke does at the beginning after each line (what is with that by the way...). I fell in love with it and when they played it live I danced like there was no tomorrow, I have to admit.

4. Disconnected

3. Beside You

This has always been one of my favourites from the first album and when they started to play this I cried. I was already crying because they had played 'Jet Black Heart' and then played 'Amnesia after this so I cried for three songs straight (thought I was over my crying at concerts phase...obviously not). I think it was just because this song is about not wanting to leave and I had to leave for University the next day...how sad is that?!

2. Permanent Vacation

I first heard this when I saw 5SOS on their first headline tour and it was a completely new song back then. I loved it and waited so patiently for it to come out. The minute I heard it on the new album i knew what it was and I played it on repeat for a good few weeks. In the shower, on the bus, just in my room. Everywhere. It was only right that I danced around at the concert to it too!

1. Jet Black Heart

TV Show :

I haven't watched much TV in the past week or so just because I'm so busy back at University but at the beginning of the month I was obsessed with..

Drunk History

Now, if you don't know what Drunk History is, it's basically when they get comedians drunk and get them to tell historical events. I like the UK version a lot more but I think that's because I knew more of the people and they tend to get a bit more drunk (I don't know what the reason behind that is but maybe it's because we have a lower alcohol intolerance?). Then they get actors to mime what the drunk comedians are saying which is always hilarious and slightly factual I have to say! There are loads of little clips on YouTube if you want to have a watch which I would highly recommend!

Purchase :

This month's favourite purchase isn't something I've bought but something that someone else has bought for me (but it still counts...right?).

Makeup Organiser

I have wanted one of these for a while! I especially wanted somewhere to put my lipsticks because I found myself just using the same ones again and again. I have so many that I just used to overlook because they would be at the bottom of my bag. My friend Amy bought me this and I use it every single day! It just saves so much space and hassle because I always know where my makeup is. The makeup organiser that I own has three draws and then a bit that just sits on top that hold my lipsticks and anything that's in a bottle! I need to buy a few more draws because I need to find somewhere to put my eyeshadow palettes but then my makeup collection will be sorted!

Photo :

I think it's a no brainer this month for the photo to be honest...

This photo was taken in the queue for 5 Seconds of Summer and from left to right this is Jazmin, Me, Melanie and Robyn. Me and Jazmin already knew each other and went to 5SOS together. We then met Melanie and Robyn in the queue and I have spoken to Melanie every single day ever since! We all got on the minute we started talking and they even knew some of the people we knew (creepy af if you ask me). It's rare that you find people that you click with so quickly but Robyn and Melanie are two people that this has happened with! We passed the time by guessing peoples lives (was funner than it sounds, honestly), playing 'Don't Show Keith Your Teeth' and just chatting. We're even meeting up next weekend for some drinks since I'm back for the bank holiday!

What's Exciting About Next Month? :

Next month is arguable one of the most exciting months I will have this year (minus maybe June which you will find out about next month in the favourites (self promo, stay tuned kids). Next month I finish my lessons at Uni even though I still have an exam on June 1st. Then, 3 days after I finish lessons I am getting on a train to go to Sheffield to see my friend Gaby. Not only am I seeing Gaby, I am also seeing BUSTED. It doesn't even seem real, I am SO excited! Now, obviously I have seen McBusted however I haven't seen Charlie since I went to their last ever tour and as much as I love McFly I am excited to hear just Busted songs. Also, Wheatus are supporting them and I am more than ready to hear 'Teenage Dirtbag' live!

And we're done for another month! It's weird to think that we're pretty much in summer now! It feels like just yesterday I turned 19. I have had a great month this month! I have made new friends, felt more comfortable and just all round happy! Hopefully you had a good month too!
