McFly Anthology Tour Birmingham
Hello You Lovely Lot!
So, if you didn’t already know, the past few days (as I’m writing this, but when I upload it it’ll be nearly a week ago) I’ve driven up to Birmingham and back three nights in a row and yes, it was as tiring as it sounds. I did it because a while ago I bought tickets for three nights at the McFly Anthology Tour!
If you don't know what the hell that is then basically it's McFly (duh) and they did three nights at four different venues. On the first night of each venue they played their first album, Room on the Third Floor and then a few extras. On the second night they played their second and third albums, Wonderland and Motion In the Ocean. Then on the third night they played their last two albums, Radio:ACTIVE and Above The Noise.

I decided to go to all three nights (much to my bank accounts dismay) because the first night included 'Five Colours in Her Hair' and let's be honest. You just can't go to a McFly concert and NOT hear that. Wonderland is my favourite album of all time so I had to go to night two. Then by that point I just figured I may as well go to all three.
Night One was slightly stressful I have to say. I was tired anyway because I had only slept for like five hours. TicketMaster messed up my order big time and so instead of stalls which were the tickets I bought, I had to be on balcony. We got in there and it turns out you're not allowed to stand up at O2 academies (which is so annoying, like who thought that was a good idea?) and so my view wasn't amazing...
It turns out the staff are also quite rude there so it wasn't the best night I've had in my life. However, I enjoyed the music and carried on, super excited for night two!
Night two was the best night of my life. Wonderland was the first album I ever bought with my own money and so that album means a lot to me. It's also just full of amazing songs and I cried my way through the night. I got there a bit earlier and queued so I would have better seats which worked (thank god) because I ended up on the front row of the balcony so I was able to lean over the side and actually see!

They played all the songs I grew up with and I feel so lucky that I got to hear songs like 'She Falls Asleep' and 'Transylvania' live because that's never happened before. Motion in the Ocean is another amazing album and I cried all the way through that too. All in all it was a very emotional night.
Night Three I left a lot later because as much as I love Radio:ACTIVE, I'm not such a big fan of Above The Noise. However, we got quite good seats at the back which meant we were further away but I could see all the boys without having to lean over anything!
Hearing Radio:ACTIVE live was so good because all the songs were full of energy and although I cried a little less, there were still many tears. This night also changed my opinion on Above The Noise slightly. The original album is a bit more electronic whereas live it's a bit more difficult to create that effect so it was more rock and I loved it. They also played 'The Heart Never Lies' every single night which was the best thing I could have hoped for. If you've read any other blog posts where I talk about McFly you may know that it's my favourite song EVER. It just means so much to me and makes me cry every time without fail and so to hear it live three times in a row makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I sobbed every night and didn't care what other people thought because McFly has changed my life and I don't care who knows!
Other highlights were Danny getting people to jump up and down to Jazz music, Dougie burping in the really emotional bit of 'The Heart Never Lies', Tom's really boring fact that he built up for ages, Dougie lying down to play 3/4 of a song and Danny thinking spraying deodorant in his ears was a good idea.
I am so glad I went to this concert and I know I'll remember it forever. Thank You McFly for making me so happy, not only on these three nights but in general.
Thanks For Reading!
